What a beautiful day! Actually think I sunburned my face and got back to work on my sunglass tan!
The carpenters finished up the garage and then worked hard preparing for the crane to show up tomorrow. They spent a good portion of the day doing something I didn’t even realize needed to be done. What they did was called racking which basically involved running a line to check the straightness/levelness of each wall and then pushing, pulling, wedging, and jacking diagonal 2 x 4s across the structure to make sure everything is true, straight, and extremely secure. That way, when the walls are dropped from above everything stays straight and in its place and they have a very square wall to fix the trusses to.
After they were done with that out came the truss plan so that Jerry and Mike could get orientated with the jigsaw puzzle of a roofing system. We had a really tough time finding a few of the pieces, but after searching down to the bottom of a very large pile they found that missing piece and were comfortable that everything was there… just maybe not exactly in its place… not yet anyways.
Other than that, I received a huge order from Automated Outlet tonight. There was actually so much stuff the UPS driver backed up into our driveway! Now I just need to unpack it all, inventory it, and take a few pictures for you folks!
