Holy cow that’s a lot of wood is what I thought as I drove up State Street and looked at the gigantic pile of trusses sitting on my front yard. Even more remarkable is the fact that there was another huge pile sitting in the backyard. What a roof system, and they’re of so many different shapes and sizes. Just like a gigantic jigsaw puzzle!
Made it up to the job site around 12 PM today. I don’t even bother with these 30° mornings. You see… this whole being paralyzed over my entire body means I don’t move a whole lot which means I get cold quite easy and am a gigantic wimp anytime it’s much colder than 45°. Doesn’t really make sense that I’m living way up here in the Arctic, but this is where/what I love and this place is where I have the best friends and support system in the whole world. Yeah… so that’s about it. Anyways, got up there this afternoon and the Michaud boys had finished the interior walls completely and were well on their way to building the garage.
Only have a few pictures from 2 PM this afternoon, but I think you get the idea.
The crane is scheduled for Wednesday so it’ll be lots of quick work getting everything ready between now and then.
Oh yeah… got a little package in the mail for my computer…
These puppies will be set up as a striped RAID 0 bootdrive that should dramatically improve my system performance. Boot and application load times should decrease by over half and all the Photoshop/Dreamweaver work for the websites I’m building should dramatically improve with the much faster scratch disc performance.
Specs for these 10,000 RPM hard drives are awfully impressive with 3 ms average latency, low power usage, and combined over 200 MB/sec read/write speeds. Can’t wait to get these babies installed and watch them wake up my machine!
Okay, geek mode out.
