YAY! CONCRETE WAS POURED TODAY!!!
Woke up this morning around 6 AM to drive up the street to watch seven and a half big trucks full of concrete, be dumped into Craig Gustofsen’s pump truck, and then splattered across our foundation. Brrr… what a chilly start to the morning with the thermometer reading 36°F and me decking myself out with flannel pants and a down jacket!
When we arrived the scene of the morning was a large crew of men (6 in total) tidying up the rebar, tying down sections of the radiant tubing, and a Trombley concrete truck dumping his load into Craig’s pump truck. I was really amazed at how much easier and better of a job they could do using the truck’s gigantic boom.
Continuing around, in total it took two full trucks of concrete to fill in the edge. I found the boom to be super impressive as it zigzagged around the foundation.
Then we had a little break for doughnuts and soda as they waited for everything to harden up, and then it was to finish work.
I’ve got to say, after watching the quality of these guys’ work and the ease at which they poured/finished a huge slab I can say without a doubt that we definitely picked the best group of guys for the job. Good work Craig Gustofsen and crew!
Okay… off to another wedding now. Super excited now that the concrete has been poured. Things just feel more real now.
