So I had planned to write a very enthusiastic, holy poo-digity is the house ever looking abso-tutely spanktastic, but I started working on a website tonight and got in the darned worst designers block (that’s when you stare at the screen forever trying to come up with something really creative and cool and the mind just blanks out) I’ve ever experienced and now I’m just as numb as can be. So you’ll have to bear with me and just enjoy the pictures and my ramblings.
Ran all over the place today buying toilets, a pedestal sink, a bathtub/shower unit, returning a bathtub/shower unit because it was defective, getting another, looking at trim, and marveling at the progress in the house. It’s funny how just a few finishing touches can really bring a room together, but look at this!
Just covering up the kraft facing of the insulation over the doorway and boxing the wall in on the left-hand side made such a difference!
What you’re seeing here is the culmination of lots of thinking between Mike, Jerry, myself and lots of handiwork on their part to put together three pocket door rail systems so that one door can travel from within side the wall out 3 feet and the other door from with inside the same wall out 6 feet. This will let us open up the whole house for company and parties, yet let me close off my section when I want to be alone or just with my peeps.
I’m still smiling at how well this came together.
Other than that there was lots of work by the plumbers trying to get everything ready to bring heat online inside the garage tomorrow and finishing up the rough in plumbing so that the Michauds can finish their drywalling.
It’s quite something what a difference sealing just a few holes made to how well the garage contained it’s heat.
Not sure what’s going on in this last picture, maybe Mike wore himself out singing show tunes with the plumber Joe. But Mike said he wanted some face time in the blog, so I might as well put a picture of him looking silly.
Everything is really looking just so great it’s hard for me and the folks to contain our excitement! Looking forward to a visit with some great friends to check out the house tomorrow. Give me a ring or hit me up on Facebook if you’d like a tour tomorrow because I’ll be there most of the day!
It is all looking great! Good luck! ~Sam
