It’s just an absolute mud pit up on the hill after all the rain. The roofers and builders have tried to push on through the crappy weather, but today just got too slippery and messy. This didn’t stop the groundwork people doing the foundation for the library. Earlier this week I decided to give them a call, figured it was worth a shot, to see if they needed to get rid of any fill from digging the foundation for the library’s new addition. The guy jumped at the chance! Never thought so much dirt could come from such a small hole, but this is going to make an absolutely incredible difference in how smoothly we can roll off the transition from the house.
I’m not real good with dirt measurements, but figure this must be at least a few hundred yards of very nice, clean fill. Worked out extraordinary for us, and made the groundwork people’s life far easier by giving them a quick place to dump.
Looks like quite the mess though!
I’m so happy to see all this extra fill surrounding the house. When the groundwork was all done and the foundation poured I was worried the house was sitting up too much and that there would be too steep a slope surrounding it. Now with all this extra dirt that won’t be a problem at all!
