And… Catching up the Month of September

Caleb, Maine Medical Center, Old Port, Portland

And, stepping through last month up till now…

August 31 – Caleb Looking Awfully Handsome on the Backyard/Deck

September 8 – A Few Action Shots I made for CCI of Caleb Helping Me Pay for Vegetables at the School Farm

September 10 – A Trip to Portland for a Wedding and to Hang with My Sister/Her Hubby

Let’s just say, the trip didn’t exactly turn out as I’d hoped, with a trip to the ER at Maine Medical, an overnight stay in the hospital, and me missing the wedding of a couple very close/dear friends. I won’t go into details about my stay, but it’s really crazy how just a bit of pain/discomfort (that I couldn’t feel) below my injury site can lead to a cascade of responses from my body, that left unchecked could be very dangerous. It all has to do with the disconnect between my brain/body and how my parasympathetic nervous system still responds to discomfort, but the feedback mechanism between it and my brain is no longer connected. Rest assured, the issues quickly sorted themselves out and I’m 100% fine.

What did absolutely melt my heart from all this crappiness, was being reunited with Caleb after our first night apart. I decided it would be better/more fun for him to spend the evening playing with Julie’s lab Daisy in their fenced in backyard. Well, when Caleb finally saw me that next morning he was so happy he couldn’t contain himself. There was excessive butt wiggling, some heartbreaking I missed you so much whining, then the front paws on my hospital bed, and quickly a whole dog.

WARNING FEMALE NURSES… YOU MAY NOT WANT TO LOOK AT THIS NEXT PICTURE… FOR WHATEVER REASON YOU FIND ME IRRESISTIBLE IN A HOSPITAL GURNEY!

Okay… enough of that! That’s plenty of a reminder for me of the hospital life I’m now missing.

September 15 – Julie and Andrew up in the County and More Weddings
So my weekend in Portland got screwed up, but at least Julie and Andrew came up for a visit and his brother’s wedding just a few days later. Caleb and Daisy were so happy to be hanging out again!

And from then till now… I’m finally starting to get some progress done on my home automation! I’ll save pictures and a description of the progress for my next post. See you all soon!

Sorry you weren't able to make Seth's wedding; we would have been seated next to each other at the reception. Funny thing is, I didn't recognize your name on the placecard they had set out for you ay our table, but when a friend of yours (I forget his name) mentioned why you were absent, I asked, "Does he happen to have a dog named Caleb?"That's when I realized you were the same guy whose blog I have been following. Small world. Best,Jeff Butterfield

Crazy what a small world it is! And did you just happen upon my blog or find it from Seth or a friend of a friend.Super bummed out that I missed he and Kristin's wedding, but at the very least I'm feeling all healthy now and looking to make up for my absence with a nice long visit. Hopefully that'll happen soon! Thanks for the comment, who knows maybe we'll bump into each other on some later day.
