Hmmmmm… How does one catch up after 2 months of blogging inactivity? Definitely with an apology for all of you who were concerned that something might have happened to me. I’m healthy and have had a truly wonderful summer enjoying the occasional sunny/non-rainy day, my new best pal in the world Caleb, and our beautiful new house. You see, I’ve never been much of the “blogger” type and seldom in life have shared so much with so many, so it’s been a bit of a challenge keeping my blogging ways going now that the excitement of the new house and Caleb has winded down and my life has dropped back into some sort of normalcy.
So, to catch up, how about the date of my summer adventure, a quick caption, and maybe a picture or two…
July 23 – Aroostook State Park
A very close friend from college and his fiancée came up to visit for the weekend. His gigantic 110 pound lab and Caleb went for a swim. Here they are sitting butt to butt in the back of the big black van.
July 30-31 – Nordic Fat Tire Festival & 12 Hour Race
Caleb and I spent the weekend at my favorite mountain biking place with all my buddies that I used to ride with. It was a crazy, rainy, muddy event, but super enjoyable with all the good people. Something I’ll never forget from this weekend was one of my friend’s younger daughters asking me why I still came out to these mountain biking events and if it made me sad. What I told her, was that it used to make me real sad, but at some point I realized the best thing about riding and everything I used to do was all the people I did it with. They are still my close friends and I just as much enjoy spending time with them even if it’s not on a bike or pair of skis.
August 3 – Me and Caleb Had a Photo Op
Pretty fancy, eh!Now that I’m writing about my life… It’s funny, I actually feel like writing about my life… Maybe this blogging thing isn’t so bad if I just make it a priority to spend a few hours each week. I’m splitting the post in half so it won’t be too long and posting the second half this Friday.I still haven’t written a lot about my automation, because I’m still struggling to get it done! Any local electricians/techie type friends want to give a hand? I pay cash!
Oh yeah… Caleb’s swimmer tail was better like forever ago!
Perfect!!
I just updated my blog today after nearly a month, o I know how you feel. The National Association of Home Builders have a research area in Bowie, MD where they constructed some "accessible" homes that we checked out during our house-hunting process. It pales in comparison to what you've created. I hope I can make a trip to Maine one day and check out your house. I am in awe! Wait…How do you survive the winters?
Hey… Hey! Just read one of your more "saucy" posts on your blog and thought it was extremely well thought/done. So many people have questions and don't dare to ask, but we wheelers like to have fun too!Winters up here are definitely one of my biggest challenges and equally one of the hugest motivations for Quadomated. By putting all the windows in the South, on a sunny day it almost feels like I'm sitting outside right beneath the sun. But yeah, 40 below zero and being in the wheelchair don't exactly go hand and hand.Hoping to get lots more finished with the house over the next few months and really tie it all together with a video tour of what Quadomated (meaning me and my house) can do.Or, You could always make the long journey to the middle of nowhere Maine.Glad you're still following!
MissLiz… you wouldn't be the same Liz whose company I so thoroughly enjoyed two weeks in CCI?
