Snagged an incredible deal on some brand-new Somfy 506S2 ILT2 roller shade motors off of eBay. These motors are the best of the best with embedded electronics, encoder-based positioning, and bidirectional communications. Even more important, my HAI OmniProII control system has native support of them included in the most recent 3.4 firmware, so integrating these into the automation system will be as easy as plugging the RS-485 ILT Tap into a serial port on my controller. This will allow precise positioning (0-100% open) through any touchscreen, portable device, web browser, and TV in the house.
Imagine this, buying one of these motors from an online retailer is normally over $450 a piece. I bought 6 of these brand-new off of eBay for only $315. Hmmm… $2,700 worth of roller motors for 315 bucks – I LIKE IT!
Now I just need to figure out where I can get a sweet deal on the roller tubes and shade fabric, and… maybe if I could find a few more of these… that would be cool too!
Yesterday it rained too much to get anything accomplished on the groundwork. This morning wasn’t much better, but they got moving dirt this afternoon. They’ve cut/leveled off the pad for the house and are now bringing in gravel that will be underneath the one foot of 3/4″ stone.I’d post pictures of today’s work, but a setting got bumped on the camera and all the pictures got messed up.
Check in tomorrow for pictures of the groundwork.
